WHEN HUMANS LIVE IN THREE DIMENSIONS, they unwittingly give up their ability to
perceive reality as it truly is. This fact is lost on nearly everyone, until time begins to decompress.
As we develop our ability to live beyond the social constructs of three dimensions, we unfold
time, into which all other dimensions are flattened in 3D consciousness. As time unfolds, it fans
out into the array of the other dimensions, which reveal themselves as we are able to assimilate
their dynamics. We see a new shape to reality, and our energy system (including our physical
body) begins to behave in new ways. Our perceptions change, and time takes on a new, non-linear shape.
The planets in their cycles shift our experience of time. When we perceive life in three
dimensions, all other dimensions are collapsed into our concept of time. This “fourth dimension”
can be tapped and unzipped from this condensed form as we assume our full individuality as
multi-dimensional beings. This is happening now as a global phenomenon to all humanity, to the
bewilderment of most.
Certainly we experience time as proceeding faster under a Mars transit than we do under Saturn
— this we all know (on some level) and experience. What is new is perceiving that time travels
in waves and eddies rather than linearly, and that we can use these currents to time travel,
changing the past and future in order to shift the present.
December’s Confluence
The planetary energies and events combine in December to create an incredible confluence of
forces that illustrate the flexibility of time. Like an orchestra going through its paces in the course
of a performance, one section will take the stage, then the next; this is how the planetary
interactions have played out thus far in this round. But ultimately, just as all the instruments
come in at once to bring the climax of the performance, so too do the planets occasionally rise
together on the crest of a single wave. This is what occurs in December.
All planetary orbits, cycles, and movements (including apparent ones, like a retrograde) bend
time. They send out waves of energy, absorb other ones, magnify, collapse, condense. When
these crosscurrents are felt in the dimensional realm we call time, we experience shifts in the
speed at which a situation changes as well as the way it occurs. In our current scenario, the
manifestation of miracles is possible because colliding waves of time are generating the chaos
necessary for the creative power of the universe to express itself.

December’s Lunar Eclipse: Back to the Future, Forward to the PastThis is especially true of eclipses, which send a
wave of time backward from the future to create
effects before the eclipse itself. The Lunar Eclipse
of December 21 is one of the most potent because
its ability to warp time is augmented by all the
other planetary phenomena of the month. This
results in multiple powerful experiences leading to
the moment of the Lunar Eclipse, when the
conditions established are “set” or “fixed” in our
lives as stable states (pools of energy).
Even before Mars reaches the degree of the
eclipse on December 6, we are feeling this finger
of energy reaching back from the future to pull us
forward. By the time we experience the eclipse
itself, many (if not most) of our new conditions will already be in near-complete form. For
instance, we may not have moved yet, but we know when, where, and why we are going to. We
may not have all the documents signed, but we know what specific shape the business start-up
will take. Watch for the manifestations of this eclipse (as well as that of January 4) in your life in
the days leading up to these powerful Sun-Moon-Earth alignments.
A December to Remember
Some years ago, a movie came out called, “Insomnia”, set in an arctic town during the summer.
The movie takes place in the unending twilight of the solstice — often dim, shadowless, and
unrelenting. This is the realm I felt like I was in for the last week of June, which included a
powerful, magical Lunar Eclipse. It was not my first encounter with a liminal state, but it was the
first one where I was aware of it and cultivating my experience. It was rich and dreamy, and it
laid me flat for several days with the wonder of it.
It was as if I were able to observe phenomena appearing and disappearing from the world around
me. I could see images magnify, recede, shift, and dissolve. I mostly saw things disappearing; I
didn’t have the full picture then (nor did any of us), but it was the beginning of a process that is
culminating in December and will establish for many of us completely new structures that will
stay with us for the rest of our lives.
This is the other side of the Cancer-Capricorn process we’ve been experiencing. Cancer is about
bringing Cosmic Family together. Capricorn is about laying down the structures of the future. If
you have been meeting people with whom you feel completely at home in a very short time, you
are not alone. The Capricorn side of the equation is about establishing the Divine Matrix. While
this has always been Cappy’s remit, it has also been miserably accomplished most of the time.
Now we have a real shot at developing a structural Heaven on Earth — or should I say, we are
already developing it! Centers of intentional activity are rapidly being established where the
participants are consciously anchoring light into the planet. This process is of the highest
importance right now, because it is one of the primary methods for creating the change we want
to be. In The Great Turning, David Korten outlines a profile of these new communities, as “a
life-centered, egalitarian, sustainable way of ordering human society based on democratic
principals of partnership.” He describes “islands” of such cultural futurism cropping up in the
midst of the wasteland of corporatism. This is the process by which Capricorn energy works.
With Pluto, the great equalizer of power in Capricorn, it is high time for this change to occur.
Change Cannot Be Accomplished by Pluto Alone.
Pluto lives in the Underworld, our unconscious awareness. It takes visitations from the other
planets to bring what we need from this hidden realm into the light. In December, we have a
flurry of such visitations, and the new life we’ve been building begins to take on more substance.
In our story so far, we’ve been letting go of more than we’ve been bringing in, going on faith that
the situation we think may develop actually will — or something like it.

Plot twists and unexpected results rule in this world
currently being created through Jupiter-Uranus in Pisces.
Uranus’s job is to awaken us to the hidden realms by giving
us glimpses of them through unexpected events. Uranus is
truly a wild card in the deck of life, found in everyone’s
hand and ready to play itself any time we forget that the
truth lies in the invisible. Jupiter magnifies and spreads
everything it touches, lifting our eyes symbolically upward
toward spirit, transmuting our difficulties if we don’t clutch
them too tightly to our breast.
Miracles are available to us all the time, but Jupiter-Uranus
in Pisces makes it especially easy to send a taproot into the
Source of all blessings. This is especially timely when we
see old ways completely dissolving rapidly before our eyes.
These dissolutions are miracles in disguise, as we will see
once our new life unfolds. In December we see what
miracles we have been creating. The new starts to take
form, and we can thank our lucky stars that so much has
dissolved to make room for it.
If you have allowed yourself to be pulled and guided by the universal forces, you will not only
find the ride easier and more entertaining but you will also find the outcomes more amazing,
beyond your wildest dreams. You already have your first indications of where you’re going.
December brings what we hoped and had faith would be created from the hidden into the realm
of the known.
Mercury, Connector of Dots
Mercury engages us in another of its “special processes” this month, as it retrogrades December
10-29. We are already in the “set-up” period, when the conditions we get to work with are being
established. The power of Mercury comes through focus. What we focus on is what we create. If
we focus on Mercury retrograde as a problem in our lives, it will be the perfect foil for us: It will
be a problem. If you want miracles, Mercury retrograde will help you create them — indeed, if
you have focused well, you cannot prevent Mercury retrograde from helping.
During Mercury’s retrograde, it “reports”, like any good messenger, back to us about how we’re
doing with our focus. Having difficulties? Correct your focus and what supports focus: attitude,
actions, and beliefs.
Where the last Mercury Rx (August 20 – September 10) actually made no contacts with any
planets save the Sun and Moon, this one more than makes up for it. The "grist for the mill"
comes from those contacts, so the last Mercury retrograde put us on retreat, working quietly in
the background on matters that are still being processed until December 19.
So while the last retrograde was quiet and intense, submerged in our inner reality, this retrograde
takes center stage with an ensemble cast. As it unfolds, the plot is complex, with many twists and
turns, but we will land where we need to be by the end of it, in mid-January. Between now and
then, we will be merging two life threads. Two stories that may currently appear unrelated
become tied in some way and in so doing are resolved.
Thread 1 has to do with processes that emerged in February, while Thread 2 is identifiable by
what we were experiencing in late June and late July–early August. These threads begin to merge
on the 5th-6th.
The biggest day of this retrograde occurs on the 13th (see Chart C below), when three planets
meet at the crossroad of destiny (the North Node). These planets are Mercury, Mars, and Pluto,
all conjoining within five minutes for a power-packed process. This will generate a tremendous
release of energy and awareness that is likely to be cathartic. Like any good catharsis, it moves
energy that has been stuck. We are emptied in the process then filled with new light where
darkness once resided. We receive clues to what needs to move on November 20, and December
5-6 and 10.
For more details on this critical Mercury retrograde and how it affects your sign, a special report
and calendar are available here.
A Knot Within a Circle Within a Spiral Within a . . .
There are several other significant planetary events and processes during December, and what’s
amazing is that they all mesh with the
Mercury retrograde process. There is a Lunar
Eclipse on
the 21st, and the start of a new
yearly Pluto cycle that are directly contacted
by Mercury. In January this strange
interconnectedness continues with the third
and final conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus,
on the day of the Solar Eclipse, January 4.
But first is the station direct of Uranus,
related to events we experienced around July
5. This falls on one of our red-letter days,
December 5 — the day of the New Moon, when Mercury also makes its first conjunction (of 3)
with Pluto. This fully opens the doorway that was pushed ajar on November 18, when Jupiter
returned to forward motion. Now more questions are answered, or answerable.
Let the Path Choose You.
Also intertwined with this process are destiny triggers, coming through the Moon’s Nodes (where
the paths of Sun and Moon cross) and the eclipses that occur when the Sun and Moon align on
the nodal axis. Mercury interacts with the Nodes during its retrograde, in addition to traveling
over the point of the Lunar Eclipse that occurs on December 21. We will be propelled along the
path with heart unless we’re too busy
hanging on to the rocks. This couldn’t be
better news, because it brings the relief
of definition just when we’re feeling
fogged.
Now we have to go toward something
we never learned to acknowledge as real
— where we sense the energy of light,
love, and purpose. It helps to think of
this experience as being chosen by our
path. It’s not that we don’t have the
freedom to choose ourselves, only that
the part of us that makes the best choice
is not the logical mind. When we allow
the path to choose us, we are really
accepting that the soul’s decision comes
from an “irrational” or creative impulse
rather than something that can be
reasoned out to the same conclusion.
Time to Migrate
This is the first eclipse of the Gemini-Sagittarius axis to occur on this round, and its expression
in the next 18 months will see us mobilized to take our places in this new reality. This eclipse
promises fireworks, if not immediately, then as Jupiter and Uranus pass over this point (by
square) in January–March.
Last month I spoke about how Mercury and Mars traveling through Sagittarius would trigger
some migratory movement, and it did. But mostly what it triggered was anticipation of migration.
Just as Mercury gets ahead of the Sun to be reined in during the retrograde, we may have gotten
ahead of ourselves in our eagerness to move along. This, even though we had plenty to take care
of by way of other processes and situations that need completion first.
From the time of the Lunar Eclipse, we will see our path and be able to make our way forward. It becomes
obvious, when the ego is sidelined, that it’s a larger process than we anticipated — one that is
best proceeding in small steps. It is still happening at an incredible pace considering all the
energetic factors that must also be adjusted unseen. If we rush it, it will take longer.
If you’re feeling the urge but it’s not time yet, this window will be open for about two years. Of
course, each of us has our own triggers and personal time table to factor in as well, and it is
possible to migrate at any time.
Endings and Beginnings
Two more planetary cycles move into their final phase when the Sun squares Jupiter on the 16th and Uranus on the 18th. We’re completing our miracle-making processes, but don’t fret if there’s
not much to show for it. These planets still have to make their final conjunction on January 4.
This is when everything will move into whatever conclusion can be gained on this wave of
energy. The next wave will further your processes in divine order, leading to your own perfect
timing.
The next yearly cycle of transformation and working with deeply hidden processes begins on the
26th, when the Sun makes its conjunction with Pluto. This is a yearly contact where the seeds of
change are planted. If you have something you want to change in your life, this is the time to set
your intention for those changes, then let go so the universe can deliver. We do have to “work”
the consciousness to remove our obstructions to the change; we would already have the thing we
want in our life if we didn’t also have something that prevented it from manifesting thus far.
The Even Bigger Picture
The December Solstice is perhaps the biggest event of all. As the Sun reaches 0° Capricorn and
pivots to refract the light in a new direction, it also reaches the Galactic Center, a co-incidence
that only occurs once every 26000 years. At the times of the solstices, the energy doors to the
planet are wide open; this is often the time that souls choose to leave and enter the planet. The
energies that flow into the planet at this time bring out the truth of our existence — that we are
multi-dimensional beings believing we live in three dimensions. With the eclipse beginning to
pass through the sign of truth (Sagittarius), we can be sure that there’s more to be revealed,
especially on a cultural level.

December In Depth
December 1–5
Intensity has been building since November 29 (Monday) with sudden developments permitting
long-awaited changes to occur. It seems as though nothing will happens because it’s been so still
and unmoving, and that’s when everything changes. Although not every person’s transformation
will occur at this opening (there are always more chances around the corner), some progress will
become visible.
On the 3rd, Mars drops the other shoe by squaring Uranus after doing the same with Jupiter.
Remember, Jupiter and Uranus are a pair right now, creating inner awareness and precipitating
refined energies of light onto Earth. Mars generates activity, creating life-changing events. While
it travels between them, Mars “translates light”, or carries energy from Jupiter to Uranus, so there
is an even more powerful effect. Uranus comes to us generally as mind flashes, or instantaneous
insights and images. With mars, these motivate us to act. Jupiter magnifies the effect, bringing
better-than-expected results. Enjoy!
At 5:51 pm on the 5th, Uranus returns to forward motion after five months (from July 5) of
retrogradation (apparent backward movement). This adds to the release of the Mars contact by
bringing 5 months’ of subdued energy into the process. It’s a bit of a kick!
December 5–9
On the 5th, the New Moon arrives at 9:36 am/13°28. This falls into the “series of 13’s (Sabian
14°)” that began with Venus’s retrograde last month. Starting November 5 and for the New
Moons through April 3, the New Moon degree is at 13° of its sign. This means that if you have a
planet (or more) at 12–14°, you will experience a series of changes that occur gradually over this
time.
This time in general is a seed period for the coming month. Observe, be conscious of what seeds
you are planting. The strongest days are the 5th-6th. On the 7th, Mars enters Capricorn at 3:49
pm, introducing a more grounded, steadier energy to replace the speedy feel of Mars in
Sagittarius. The 8th is a golden opportunity for manifestation that will work for some. (If it’s not
your day, it is coming.)
Bigger image of Chart C
December 10–15
At 4:06 am/5°56' Capricorn, Mercury
commences its retrograde transit,
appearing to travel backward (from later
to earlier degree) through December 29.
This retrograde period is supported by
many harmonies in the heavens, and those
are expressed through events on the 10th-12th that set a pleasant tone for our
experiences and outcomes.
The 13th-15th deliver the critical mass of
the month, with the triple conjunction
(within five minutes) of Mercury
retrograde, Mars, and Pluto on the North
Node, and also engaging the Moon on the
14th-15th. Many good outcomes occur
(even if they don’t feel good right away).
All relationships have been through a catharsis, and now it’s time for the corrections to sink in. It
feels good, some benefits are already coming through.
December 16–21
On the 16th, the Sun’s square to Jupiter takes us fully into Thread 1. This opens the window for a
translation of light from Jupiter to Uranus the 16th-19th. More miracles, anyone? Relationship
matters that came into focus in October find especially smooth sailing over these days. By the
19th, something is completed, either our understanding of a situation or actual events. Either way,
we find ourselves in a more stable place emotionally and mentally, and that allows the body to
rest and the spirit to shine through more clearly.
The 20th-21st is the eclipse time. On the 20th, we are led into the new energy once and for all
with a tweak from Moon and Mercury to ensure that head and heart are hooked up and
communicating. The Full Moon is a total Lunar Eclipse at 0:13 am. The Moon enters the
penumbra at 8:28 pm Pacific Time, is in the darkest shadow 9:32 pm – 1:01 am, and leaves the
penumbra at 2:06. Startling revelations bring to earth what we have felt to be true. Now we can
proceed.
December 21-29
This period is a follow-through time, when all the effects of the past few weeks — even the
entire year — are felt and begin to integrate into our lives. These blessings are seeds for the next
Sun-Pluto cycle of transformation that starts on the 26th. We get indications of what these seeds
are (if we don’t know) on the 26th-28th, and the more we can be conscious of what we are
putting into this cycle and direct our focus with clarity, the more of this cycle’s potency will be
sent toward the things we want to create.
On the 29th, any remaining obstacles to our new path show up as Mars squares Saturn. This may
involve some heavy lifting. At 11:21 pm, Mercury returns to forward motion (stationary direct),
at 19°37' Sagittarius. Now it heads back toward Jupiter and Uranus in Pisces, and the Lunar
Eclipse point for one last manifesting period.
December 30-31
A couple of days to coast and enjoy. We have earned the peace and joy we feel now. There’s no
better energy to feel than this to seed 2011 with light, love, joy, and peace. So it is!

If you’re on Facebook, let me know what your miracles are for December. Look in my Astrology
